Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates. You know how it is with the holiday seasons, scrambling for last minute gifts, impromptu dinner with distant relatives, "obligations" that have to be kept, it's that time of year again.
But I hope everyone had a good Christmas break regardless of whatever religious affiliations you may have. I know I certainly have been able to catch up on some much needed rest.
And don't worry, this blog hasn't been abandoned, things have just been really hectic and we'll be posting much more in the future.
But more "obligations" are bothering me so I'll need to cut this short. Here's something I'd want to use for scaring little children:
Look carefully and you can seeing "something" jiggling about.
Uncanny valley much?

Fucking Gears, How do They work?
The Ancients were geniuses. I'm talking about people like, the Ancients Greeks who had a better grasp of physics than most, the Chinese who managed to map out North America before Columbus in a larger boat, even areas of Middle East had batteries while most other cultures were figuring out basic sanitation.
And then we find something this in the ocean:
This, is the Antikythera mechanism. Well, part of it anyways. Now, it doesn't look like much but the thing is, it's over 2000 year old. Take a look and see how intricate those gears are, in fact, go ahead and find pictures of the other pieces. It's unbelievable that 2000 years ago people were making something so complex and then suddenly everyone goes retarded during the middle ages.
The sad thing is that we only recently figured out what this thing does: It predicted solar eclipses.
It's hard to believe that mankind had this kind of knowledge and it's just scary how far we regressed and only recently have we somewhat recovered.
But still, this is pretty awesome and impressive. Can't wait till 2024.

Who here hates the ipad?
Would you spend $600 on a product that looks like this?
Don't you just want one! |
Well there were about 300'000 people who waited in line for hours even days to get this "new, revolutionary" ipad. Like this guy...
This video really isn't that far off... (Futurama E03, S06)
How many of you loathe the apple Ipad? Well i sure do, if you were to get your hands on one what would you do with it? I would have some fun with it, but when i say "fun" I dont mean playing games or checking out the apps for it, no no. This is what I mean by fun...
Anyone else out there who hates the ipad as much as I do, let yourself be heard by leaving a comment! And if your one of the people who has spent $600 on a ipad...well its a shame apple's marketing gets to ya so easily...:)

Weird Ads From Japan
Now, before I begin I just want to say I have nothing against the Japanese other than the utmost respect, fear and bewilderment. Then again, that's probably why they have way better things that what we do in North America, such as these ads:
. . . .
I take that back, I'd really want to eat that Whopper, just to say I've eaten something with 7 patties before or a sandwich dedicated to Windows 7..
This one isn't so bad...
This one on the other hand...
Or this:Seriously, I don't even know how you could come up with a mascot like that. No one in North America would do something like that (unfortunately) but then we're also safe from things like:
. . . .

China's weather manipulation?
Did you know that china spends $100 million a year on weather manipulation programs? What technology is being used and why would they want to use it? Its called "cloud seeding", and was first used by Vincent Schaefer on November 13, 1946. Cloud seeding works by dropping or firing a rocket into a cloud then dispersing a chemical known as silver iodide within the cloud. The silver iodide reacts with the water molecules in the cloud causing them to rapidly freeze, once heavy enough the water droplets will fall from the cloud as precipitation. This will cause a cloud to spontaneously precipitate snow, in a warm climate the snow will melt as it is falling to the ground to make rain.
There have been many different applications of cloud seeding in history, believe it or not during the 1969 Woodstock fest, it was reported that the us government used cloud seeding technology to "rain out the gathering hippies".
There are many ongoing applications of cloud seeding today, but the biggest and most controversial applications of cloud seeding are being done all over parts of china. In the 2008 Beijing Olympic games, the Chinese government used cloud seeding to intercept a large rain front approaching the city, causing the cloud to release all of its moisture before entering the city. Thus creating a warm sunny pleasant experience for the Olympic event. The only problem is that they actually caused a massive record beating snow fall in the outskirts of the city, causing confusion and a halt of the city's transportation system.
There is major controversy on the subject of cloud seeding, many people believe that it is extremely damaging to the naturally balanced Eco system. Other theroys state that the affected cloud seeding areas are being "over watered" causing delicate crops to die out from over moisturized soil. There are also conspiracy theory's that suggest that china is "stealing rain" from there neighboring countrys thus forcing those countrys to buy "well watered and healthy" crops from the Chinese government.
Cloud seeding works by emitting silver iodide into a cloud thus causing snow or rain. This is a technology that has been used for many years since 1946, and will continue to be used to manipulate the whether for practical reasons like raining out hippies or increasing precipitation in drought torn areas. Hell it could even be used as a weapon against other countrys?
